RAILCTX - Measurement and Control Device

RAILCTX is an edge platform for detecting and processing physical events in railway operations. The device records vibrations, shocks, acoustics, and environmental data at critical railway points, evaluating signals locally rather than transmitting raw data streams.

Processing can run with local deterministic logic, in the cloud, or as a data streamer together with MEC AI edge computers. RAILCTX can be trained using RET (Rail Efficiency Toolkit) for deriving thresholds and patterns.

RAILCTX operationalizes physical reality in rail operations - through local event detection, traceable evidence, and scalable edge integration.

Typical applications

  • Early detection of abnormal wheel-rail interactions
  • Noise detection
  • Unusual contact/impact/vibration pattern detection
  • Critical infrastructure monitoring
  • Switch, crossing, and bridge condition monitoring
  • Wear/fault identification through acoustic analysis
  • Incident detection with traceable evidence
  • Real-time event detection
  • Local response triggers and operational controls

Technical specifications

  • EN50155 / EN45545 / CRA compliant
  • IP40 (RAILCTX) / IP67 (RAILCTX-E)
  • Multidimensional motion detection (IMU)
  • Acoustic sensors with internal microphones (RAILCTX-E)
  • Environmental context sensors (temperature, humidity, pressure)
  • LTE dual-SIM communication
  • GPS optional
  • Digital inputs/outputs for local actuators

Why choose RAILCTX

  • Early detection instead of damage cases
